Humble Beginnings

For years, designer and illustrator Steve Jakeway has been quietly (and sometimes not so quietly) leaving his mark on the UK diving scene. A diver with a sharp eye and a sketchbook never far away, Steve has spent many a dive season creating apparel, logos and brand designs for clubs, causes and companies across the community. Wander through the aisles of any dive show and there’s a good chance the T-shirt on the diver next to you started life on Steve’s drawing board.

Slack Water® is the result of all that bubbling away at the surface for a very long time. With the encouragement of customers, mates and family, we finally took the plunge. We’re kicked off with a small but carefully crafted collection – the sort of garment you’ll be just as happy wearing on a dive trip as you will propping up the bar afterwards. This is only the start: we’ll keep expanding, experimenting, and having a bit of fun along the way, all while giving UK divers of every level something properly awesome to wear.
